Dear Reader,
Thanks again for your continued encouragement via these newsletters. It’s great to learn how each edition is being so well-received.
For this edition, I’m choosing to suspend our routine and instead elaborate on some helpful resources and curated articles around how to deal with such grim times, which I feel is a more responsible use of this prime real-estate, in the current context.
This newsletter goes out to more than 800 wonderful people each week, and I’m sure at this time-rather unfortunately- we all know someone in our close circles who’ve contracted the virus.
I’m compiling a make-shift primer to make it easy for you to share and to keep yourselves updated. I’ll also be pinning a thread on #general, for you to quickly jump or contribute to.
As always, If you’ve got constructive feedback to share- I’m easily reachable on slack or on Twitter.
Stay safe, everyone.
DISCLAIMER: Any link that you come across in this edition is simply a general curation. We’re not advertising anyone, and haven’t tied up with them in any form or fashion whatsoever. This is just a candid effort of amplifying, and curating some legitimate resources from around the web on account of goodwill.
To begin with
This website is one of the most accurate resources I’ve come across, around the latest update of COVID-19 numbers. I’ve personally been using this to keep my organization updated for over 8 months now.
Additionally, this website does a better job with visual representation of COVID growth graphs, which you can refer to.
Lastly, Google News gives great information around city/state-wise COVID numbers, vaccination rate, mobility rate, and other important metrics. At the time of writing this edition, the current numbers look like this:
Diving Deeper
There’s been quite some noise around the various types of mutants that are now infecting us, and this video here does a good job in giving an overview of what’s exactly happening with the virus.
Additionally, I came across a good thread on Reddit too, that you can skim through.
If you want to explore further thought leadership around the virus, Mckinsey has done a great job explaining when the virus could potentially subside for good. Here’s an interesting graph from the article.
A list of assistance, that you can currently avail (not exhaustive)
Note: I’ve tried by personal best to verify these resources. Do it from your end to, before proceeding, if need be. In such times, the more the options, the merrier, and so let’s hope for the best probability.
Hospital Beds:
This is a simplified dashboard to get an overview of the number of beds available, in Delhi, launched by CM Kejriwal.
This is good website to understand the number of beds and ICUs vacant in Thane.
If you’re in Ahemadabad, this website seems to be a good resource for checking hospital beds.
Surat Municipal Corporation also has a helpful website to find out the number of vacant beds. You can view the website here.
Vadodara Municipal Corporation also has a helpful website to find out the number of beds. You can view the website here.

Before we part,
I’d like to end today’s edition with this inspiring poem, by Dylan Thomas- “Do not go gentle into that good night:”
